Introductory/taster sessions
This session is ideal for introducing the complete beginner to the sport of rock climbing or simply as a one off experience for tasting Maltese rock. The activities included in such session are abseiling and top-roping. The participant is given basic instruction on how to climb and abseil. Full use of climbing/abseiling equipment is given, which includes: rock climbing sit harness, rock shoes, climbing safety helmet and other relevant gear. A top rope safety line will always be attached to the participant whether climbing or abseiling. Participants are advised not to wear tight clothing and to bring along something to drink. The choice of climbing crag, which is decided upon by the climbing guide, depends mainly on the number of participants. The duration of the session is from the time of pick up till the end of the session at the climbing crag. Transportation is provided from accommodation / pick-up point to the climbing crag and back.
